Parades
The first recorded St. Patrick's day parade in history took place in New York City on March 17th, 1762. It was held by Irish soldiers who were serving in the British army. They marched to Irish music to help them reconnect with their Irish ancestry and fellow servicemen. Irish music is still a staple of St. Patrick’s Day parades around the Chesapeake Bay. Wear green and celebrate in the following cities.

The City’s biggest parade of the year – the Annapolis St. Patrick’s Parade – will take place with step-off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 6. The parade starts at West Street and Amos Garrett Blvd. and concludes at City Dock. The parade is slated to include more than 100 entrants.
